We went through a lot in such a short time. I wonder if I can remember it all...?
When we started out, one of my traveling companions sprained her ankle. It couldn't be helped, but she was very stubborn about going on anyway. Many of us offered to help her, but she turned us all down. What is it like to be so driven like that, I wonder? It's fine to keep pushing ahead, but I worry about her. If something truly bad happens in the future, I hope she will let us aid her. We might have ended up together by chance, but I don't want to see any of these people needlessly in pain.
We got to Gullsvale and managed to find an inn. The innkeeper offered to let us stay for free, so long as we tried to catch some thieves who were giving her grief! She was incredibly kind to us, and even gave us a free meal after one of our number repaired her fence. I'm beginning to realize we have a lot of talented people in this group. I'll need to make sure I don't hold us back!
It wasn't that important, but I don't think Holly likes Papina that much. She tried to eat Papina's hair during dinner... I paid for her bath in apology. I hope Holly will grow to like her a little better - or at least behave around her!
The next day, we set out to find the thieves. Thanks to some help from what we thought was an ordinary young boy, we found them and realized they were acting the way they were because they had an injured kit with them. Our healer, helped by our bard, were able to help it recover. I'm so glad... I don't know what I would have done if the others had decided to fight them instead.
We came back to the inn and the innkeeper gave us some money she found on her doorstop. And, get this: the boy who helped us earlier in the day showed up again, except he revealed himself to be a dragon! I feel so fortunate to have been able to just see one, even though I was so shocked at the time I could hardly move. I wonder if we'll be able to meet it again...? I can only hope so!
And before I forget: if there is a chance, check the forest for herbs. We were too busy today, but if we go that way later I need to make sure not to let the innkeeper's list go to waste.
